Julia Küster, Schauspielerin

Julia Küster was born in Germany and has lived in Norway since the age of sixteen. She trained as an actor at the Theatre Academy of Nord University in Trøndelag, one of Norway’s two national theatre schools. During her studies, she also spent a semester at the prestigious Ernst Busch Academy of Dramatic Arts in Berlin. From 2020 to 2023, she pursued further education in musical theatre at the Academy of Music and Drama at the University of Gothenburg—one of the leading musical theatre programs in Northern Europe.

Since graduating, Julia has performed at theatres across Norway and Sweden, including Riksteatret, Teater Innlandet, Unge Viken Teater, and Östgötateatern. She is also the managing director and co-creator at Feil Teater, an acclaimed independent company known for its bold and playful productions. At Feil Teater, she has written and performed in several original plays, combining physical theatre, music, and devised storytelling.

Julia is fluent in German, Norwegian, and Swedish, speaking all three languages natively and without an accent.

In 2025, Julia stars as Zarah Leander in the play Die Leander and plays Ariel in the musical Unfortunate, both at Östgötateatern in Sweden. She also appears in acclaimed director Joachim Trier’s feature film Sentimental Value, which won the Grand Prix at the 2025 Cannes Film Festival. In addition, she is currently filming the international TV drama Breendonk in Belgium.

In spring 2026, Julia will take on the title role in Yerma by Federico García Lorca at Västmanlands Teater, a powerful production exploring themes of longing, identity, and isolation.
